George Cox was founded in Northampton, England in 1906 by founder George James Cox. Northampton is the center of the British shoe industry, and George Cox's company also received high praise here, and in 1949, George Hamilton Cox, the eldest son, continued the founder's wishes and became president. I will take office. 1949 was also the birthplace of Brossel Creepers (Rubber Sole). These rubber-soled shoes, called Brossel Creepers, became a big hit and became a must-have item for young British rock fans in the 1960s. In 1972, Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren (later manager of the Sex Pistols) opened their first teddy boy shop, ``Let It Rock'' at 430 Kings Road, selling George Cox products. We will start selling rubber soles. In 1976, the store's name was changed to "Sex," but due to the punk era, it was worn by members of punk bands such as the Sex Pistols and the Clash, and it gained a cult following.
The Creepers, produced by George Cox, gained status and continued to be enthusiastically supported by young people even during the rockabilly boom of the early 1980s, starting with the debut of the Stray Cats. From 1973 to 1995, George Cox produced models using Dr. Martens soles, always staying ahead of the times and continuing to make unique shoes, while still maintaining the basics of shoe making. Don't lose sight of it. Furthermore, we continue to maintain our corporate stance of never wanting mass production. This is the reason why even today, 100 years after our founding, we continue to be supported by young people who value individuality and originality. This spirit has been passed down from the third generation president, Norman Waterfield, to the fourth generation, Adam Waterfield, all the way to the present day. And it is precisely because this spirit is imbued in the shoes that George Cook shoes continue to captivate the hearts of young people of the time.
