This book was written to examine future prospects by reviewing the history of Korean language education and examining the current reality of Korean language education, to help set the direction of Korean language education by discussing laws, systems, and policies related to Korean language education, and to help establish the government's Korean language education policy. The book is structured as follows. Chapter 1 is a basic discussion on Korean language education policy theory, and presents research methods for Korean language education policy by separating the development of Korean language education from the perspective of Korean language education policy. Chapter 2 is a background discussion for discussing Korean language education policies, looking at the history and current state of Korean language education and examining the current international status of the Korean language. Chapters 3 and 4 discuss the Korean government's Korean language education policy and cover the policy environment, historical development of policies, and examples of laws, systems, and policies. In particular, since Korean language education policies are greatly influenced by the external environment, we first examined the relationship between the policy environment, policy decisions, and policy products. They also discuss laws, systems, and policies after summarizing the historical trends and main contents of Korean language education policies.
