some of the joints are a bit rough and can be very hard to separate but a quick rub down with very fine sandpaper or scotch pad work well together and even wire wool/brillo pad are just as good once done the extending or retraction are very smooth making it a superb pole/whip at 3.4mt fully extended for less than the price of a packet of cigarettes

!! Eventually I could not use the rod. The final two parts got stuck inside and were rock solid. Not able to retrack the rod properly. This was very annoying at the first trial.
